MOST CREATIVE WORK BEFORE UNIVERSITY

As I didn't take any Art subjects like 'Visual Arts' or 'Design & Technology' during High School, I don't have many "Creative" pieces of work to choose from. However, sometimes when I get bored during my other classes, I would just doodle and draw different styles and designs of my name. I drew my name because I couldn't think of what else to draw and by the end of High School, I had about 30 different drawings of my name! This was the only way I could practice my drawing and designing skills during the hectic times of the HSC.

This building is called the 'Dynamic Tower' and will soon be built in Dubai. Although the tower has not been built yet, I still believe that it is an interesting and innovative piece of architecture. Probably the most unique design aspect of the tower is that each individual floor is able to rotate independently causing the tower to constantly change its shape. The entire tower will also be powered by wind turbines and solar panels to reduce the cost of electricity and be more environmentally friendly.

This is a photograph I took during my trip to Japan in 2007. It's a photo of Kinkaku-ji which means 'The Golden Temple' in English. Kinkaku-ji is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan which was originally built in 1937 as a retirement village for a Shogun. The most interesting part of the architecture is that the top two floors of the temple is covered entirely in pure gold leaf. Furthermore, the beauty of the temple is accentuated by the magnificent Japanese garden and pond that surrounds it.
